Stacey, 23."I called my professor a misogynist piece of shit while drunk at my school's talent show and that's pretty much all you need to know about me." Missing a comma there, Stacey. But you're edgy. Right.

Brunch Review: Banditos

Brunch at Banditos = Better than Expected

Real talk: When I first think of Banditos, I think of a smoking bar with ridiculously cheap drinks and dollar tacos during happy hours. And a lot of company I would not usually keep.

But brunch at Banditos is super legit! They have a bunch of TV's for the sports lovers. Banditos has a big enough space to bring a crowd of friends. They have cheap drinks. And it's one of the only places I know of that serve chips and salsa as a brunch appetizer.

On the downside, if you do happen to take a large crowd, it does really cramp service time. However, if you're rolling that deep, that's probably an expected outcome anywhere. And the chips did help to fill the void.

Sara and Cazey Take TV

A little over one month ago, we launched As Told Over Brunch as our new joint endeavor. We wanted to do something special for our month-long anniversary and were kicking around lots of ideas. Our decision was made much easier with one email from a local news reporter asking to interview us for a special she's making.

    Things That Happened at the Masquerade

    A couple weekends ago, Sara and I attended a masquerade ball. I sit on the exec board for the organization that hosted the ball, so my favorite game of the night was having everyone guess how much the ball cost. Since our tickets were free, we decided to go all out on our masks. Unfortunately, the first couples' set we chose sold out, but we received a discount for our next choice. We chose - I should be real here; I chose - a metal filigree mask that was hot as Hades. Truly, my only wish for the evening was to get a killer profile pic. However, the best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry.

    Leading up to the ball, I asked my friends where they were getting their masks. The most common response was, "Oh, are people wearing masks? I wasn't going to."

    Me: (I guess I'll leave my $22 mask at home. Uh, no.) "You should wear a mask; I hear everyone else is."

    Brunch Review: Kitchen 64

    We had quite the crew this one weekend, and because I write blog reviews about where I eat brunch, it fell on my shoulders to pick our newest victim-- er, I mean location -- of the review. And this time, there were seven willing critics to pitch in their thoughts and pictures. The menu is robust (and includes mimosa pitchers), which made everyone happy right off the bat.
