Where to Brunch in Richmond with a Patio
It's patio-sitting season! I hate math, but here's an introductory equation that sums up this blog post: brunch + patio = perfect weekend plan. Let's make this easy on us all.

As Told Over Brunch is a home for intelligent discourse from the twenty-something perspective - so the stuff you gossip about over mimosas on Sunday morning or over takeout on your friend's couch when happy hour ends too early. We love chatting about our lives, whether it be the relationships we’re building (or destroying), lessons we've learned at work, struggles at school, growing pains we've felt, or even the food we’re talking over.

Read MoreI already hate myself for this idea. But it really fascinates me. Learning y'all, it's awesome.
I read an article on Time a few days ago, which stated that we are scientifically worse at picking pictures of ourselves for our social media pages than strangers are. While not all of you are strangers, apparently you already are going to pick better pictures of me than me.
Weird, right? But maybe not actually surprising, as seen in real life examples...

There are countless people to thank, restaurants to applaud and sponsors to appreciate after this weekend. So many people pitched into to make the second annual Richmond Brunch Weekend successful, from the fantastic co-chairs (shout-out to Cazey and Leanne) to volunteers and beyond. But after seeing the turnout this weekend, it's easy to say: it's been worth it.
While we all might be sighing a breath of relief that everything went off without a hitch, we're also left idle.
So what now that brunch weekend is over?

Then the tires didn't inflate.
My excitement deflated. I threw in the towel, pretty ready to just sell the damn thing. It's basically just a big lawn decoration at this point.
Read MoreBack in September, I said I was going to use every spice in my fancy new spice rack. As of the conclusion of 2016, I had not yet started that project. So I made a resolution to make a recipe once a month with one of the spices.
While I was good at googling recipes that included celery salt, I had a tough time remembering to buy those supplies once I got to the store. Instead of letting this set-back ruin my goal, I took matters into my own hands. I made my own recipe, cleverly titled 'Sara's Soup Recipe,' from my research that celery salt is good for dumping into soups.

It's been building for months. I ended 2016 with a shrug, as it was a great year, but one also plagued by some serious doubt about what to do next with myself. I don't like floating by, and I don't feel like anything is really changing these days. I just am.
Read MoreI talk a lot, which statistically opens me up for more air time for me to say something inappropriate. Or rude. Or something I didn't mean. Or something that I don't realize is bad until it's out there.
I've actually been focusing on this as a 'room for improvement' area in my life. When I'm comfortable, I just say things without caution. It's both a blessing and a curse, because sometimes it's really funny. And sometimes it sucks all the air of a place.
