We're back!
Hi, everyone! Once upon a time, Cazey and I wrote every week, often multiple times a week. I started grad school and felt my creativity (and time) drying up. A pandemic hit. Cazey went on a cross-country road trip that lasted three months, and next thing we knew, we were having the should-we-keep-doing-this conversation after nearly a year without posting any new content.
We very quickly decided that we wanted to keep blogging — and renewed our promise to each other to write more. It might be a bit less than before, but we both hope that the more we write, the more we’ll spark the flame on our own creativity and keep going.
We also felt we needed a bit of a rebrand. This year both Cazey and I turn 30, so “twenty-something discourse over mimosas” isn’t as relevant, even if it’s just thirty-something discourse… Eek. And more often coffee or tea than mimosas.
I feel like Thomas Jefferson making his return from France in the smash hit musical Hamilton.
So what did we miss?
Jk — we missed a whole lot. Rather than trying to play catch up from the last year, let’s take a look forward. I did a questionable job trying to give our blog a bit of a facelift. Somehow I made all the homepage pictures long and skinny and I don’t know how to change that back. But we hope that you’ll stick with us as we slowly ramp back up our content! We’re thinking something manageable like one or two posts a month.
And stay tuned for information about Richmond Brunch Weekend. That event will forever be our baby, but we want to make sure it returns only when it is safe and mutually beneficial for Massey Cancer Center and our local restaurant community.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for sticking it out all these years with us! I think we’re on year number six together. I think I speak for myself and Cazey that when we started this blog, we had no idea what we were doing or getting into. It’s been an incredible opportunity to meet wonderful people within the Richmond community and beyond. We’ve gotten to weigh-in on topics that we are passionate about, process love and loss out loud, share our story and support our community.
Thank you and we look forward to serving up our first new piece of content shortly!
