ANNOUNCEMENT: Richmond Brunch Weekend

A few weeks ago, As Told Over Brunch's one-year birthday passed us by quietly. We didn't make much fanfare because 1.) we sorta forgot in the holiday chaos and then it was a day too late (oops) and 2.) we've been planning a big event since September and wanted its announcement to be our celebration.

Either way, you can still send us birthday cards with Starbucks or Target gift cards if you want to help us celebrate our baby blog's birthday. (Our email is astoldoverbrunch@gmail.com.)

But about that big event...

We're a blog focused on brunch, and both Sara and Cazey consider Richmond our current home. We wanted to bring both of those together. Simultaneously, Richmond happens to be a booming foodie town with tons of restaurant, taco, and sandwich weeks. From there sprouted the idea of a...drum roll please...brunch weekend. Richmond Brunch Weekend to be exact!

For this awesome, delicious weekend, we've tasked local restaurants with creating special brunch menus with items they don't regularly offer and to keep the price under $10. Better yet, we've partnered with the Massey Alliance so that each plate bought benefits VCU Massey Cancer Center. The Massey Alliance is also coming up with a Massey Mimosa to commemorate the weekend. In the meantime, you can donate to Massey Cancer Center here.

You're not going to want to miss this first-of-its-kind event in the nation. (That sounds almost as cool as it was to write!) For two days in a row, you get to brunch at some of your favorite local restaurants and fight cancer while doing so!

So get it on your calendars:

Richmond Brunch Weekend is coming this spring, May 14-15, 2016!

We'll be announcing participating restaurants so, so soon, so be sure to check out the website periodically (www.RichmondBrunchWeekend.com) and RSVP to the Facebook event. And if you can't wait until this spring, then keep checking out our blog where we try to keep you entertained at the brunch table!
